1. Radimlja Necropolis

Stećak is a unique medieval tombstone and one of the historical monuments in Bosnia and Herzegovina that can be found in different locations all over Bosnia and Herzegovina and neighboring countries. Located just outside of the town of Stolac, with over 100 examples of the stećci monuments Radimlja has the highest concentration of these medieval tombstones.  Many with decorations carved on the sides, the tombstones are huge rocks. You can find inscriptions of greeting figures by strolling through the stone necropolis, cattle animals, the Moon and stars, swords, flowers, geometric patterns, and horsemen. With walls and a tilted roofMany tombstones have the distinctive shape of a house like a symbolic home in the afterlife.

2. Garavice Memorial Park

In Bosnia, just outside the town of Bihać, a somber memorial park marks the place.  During the war, Axis forces controlled much of the Balkans, and the town of Bihać became a part of the fascist-aligned Independent State of Croatia as borders were redrawn. The new mayor of Bihać in June 1941, ruling that all ethnic Serbs and Jews had to leave their homes, Ljubomir Kvaternik, moved towards homogenizing the town. But a great number ignored the order, many did. It now considered in one of the famous monuments in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The mayor called for the arrest of all those who remained in July. Thousands of Serb and Jewish civilians of all ages were taken to sites outside the town.

3. Sarajevo Roses

Now these satins known as Sarajevo Roses and become one of the monuments to see in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The city was repeatedly bombarded by enemy forces. An average of over 300 shells estimated to hit the city every day with a devastating crescendo of 3,777 shells hitting the city on July 22nd, 1993. 5. Tjentiste War Memorial

One of the many otherworldly and best monuments in Bosnia and Herzegovina that dot the Bosnian landscape. Tjentiste War Memorial, the rocky passage is a stunning tribute to a total failure. To recollect Operation Fall Schwarz, the two fractal dividers of the remembrance were raised during the 1970s, also called the Battle of the Sutjeska. The military saw Axis forces attempt to rout a group of Yugoslavian forces, capture their leader action and took place during World War II. Including their leader, foiling the Nazis’ plan, the complicated battle saw most of the Yugoslav forces able to escape which was actually the second attempt at the same strategy.  It was not without tragedy while the Axis’ plan was a failure. Mostly just citizens Over 7,000 people who could not escape were killed with the majority of the Yugoslavian military forces. 

6. Kozara Memorial Monument

Kozara Memorial Monument is one of the popular monuments in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 4,000 Yugoslavian partisans watched some 40,000 Nazis in April of 1942. With the express goal of wiping them from the face of the planet, local fascist forces head directly towards their location in the city of Dera.  Ustaša militia and the German Wehrmacht surrounded the town of Banja Luka during the spring of 1942 the Croatian army and 1,700 partisans killed, 50,000 civilians and 80,000 civilians over the ensuing weeks were wounded were sent to concentration camps. A group of divided powers was at last ready to break the attack toward the beginning of July yet the human expense had just been paid.
