Due to this morning's significant snowfall, the Kashmir valley is now completely blocked off from the outside world, with all flights to and from Srinagar airport cancelled and the national highway also closed.

According to the most recent reports, today's rain hit the Jammu division while heavy snowfall was seen throughout the valley. According to the MeT office, the valley will continue to have bad weather for the next 12 hours.

The weathermen continued, saying that while the bad forecast is likely to last for the next 12 hours, there may be a small improvement from Monday evening. There are many places to visit in Kashmir and one of the best hill destinations in India.

According to reports, Srinagar city received 5 inches of snow up till Monday morning, while other well-known tourist destinations like Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Pahalgam, and other upper reaches, received more than 1-3 feet.

No flights could take off or land at Srinagar International Airport during the early hours due to the weather's low visibility, which also affected flight operations.

According to other reports, the Ramban-Banihal section of the Jammu-Srinagar highway has been closed as a result of mudslides and stone-throwing incidents at many locations.

The highway is the key road route that connects the Kashmir valley to the rest of the nation and acts as the region's lifeline. Pahalgam recorded -1.4°C, while Srinagar -0.2°C.
