The most important of these is probably the General Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which aims to guarantee the equal rights and opportunities of persons with disabilities. This law seeks to provide assistance to persons with disabilities in various areas. These include provisions for access to buildings, the provision of job opportunities, technical assistance, and support for their effective integration into the educational system.Additionally, Spain has ratified the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, as well as a range of other international agreements which strengthen the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities in the country. Spain also has a number of specific laws in place to protect disability rights including the Integral Law of Social Action and Social Services, which guarantees free and adapted access to services and facilities for persons with disabilities. Spain also recently passed a new law in 2017, called the Ley de creación del Fondo Nacional de discapacidades, which aims to promote inclusion and accessibility for persons with disabilities. This law establishes a National Disability Fund which provides different types of subsidies and special education measures for disabled persons.
