4. Train to Aguas Calientes: From Ollantaytambo, board a train to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. This small town is located at the base of Machu Picchu and serves as the main access point to the archaeological site. The train ride offers breathtaking scenic views of the Andean mountains and takes around 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the type of train chosen.

5. Bus or Hike to Machu Picchu: Upon reaching Aguas Calientes, you have two options to reach Machu Picchu. You can either take a bus ride or choose to hike up to the site. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes and follows a winding road up the mountain. The hike, known as the Inca Trail, takes several hours but allows for a more immersive and adventurous experience.

6. Arrival at Machu Picchu: After the bus ride or hike, you will arrive at the entrance of Machu Picchu. It is recommended to book your entrance tickets in advance, as there is a daily limit on the number of visitors allowed.
