Architectural Significance

The Amsterdam International Christian Church (AICC) is housed in a building that has a significant architectural history. The building was originally constructed in the 19th century as a Catholic church in Amsterdam, Netherlands, known as the St. Willibrorduskerk. It was designed by the Dutch architect Petrus Johannes Houtzagers, who was known for his neoclassical style.

The St. Willibrorduskerk served as a Catholic church for many years, but in the 1960s it was sold to the Dutch Reformed Church and underwent significant renovations. During this time, many of the original neoclassical elements of the building were removed or covered up. This is why, Amsterdam International Christan Church (AICC) is known as the most beautiful church in Amsterdam

In 2013, the AICC purchased the building and began a major renovation project to transform it into their new home. The renovation was carried out by the Dutch architecture firm Studio Nine Dots, who sought to restore many of the original neoclassical elements of the building while also creating a modern and functional space for the church. The best Netherlands church, AICC is the must-visit place to offer prayers.

One of the key architectural features of the building is its façade, which features a neoclassical portico with six columns and a triangular pediment. The façade has been restored to its original glory, with the columns and pediment being cleaned and repaired.
