It is the longest Lutheran church in the entire country and the largest Baroque era Lutheran Church in the Baltics. Work began on its construction in 1778 and was completed in 1823. The church is built entirely out of pine logs, and its structure is unique from all other churches in Europe. It is one of the best churches in Latvia which you must visit.
