The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Czechia has a long history that dates back to 1890. The first Seventh-day Adventist church in the country (then part of Austria-Hungary) was established by Czech immigrants who left for the United States to join the church there. Missionary work was started in 1908 and the first Czech Seventh-day Adventist church was opened in Prague.
Since that time, the church has grown and now has over 30 churches and 7,000 members in the Czech Republic, with a further 8,000 members in Slovakia and beyond. The Czech Church is a member of the larger worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church and adheres to the doctrines and practices set forth by the church’s global governing body.
