History:
The church of St. Batholomew was originally built in 1325, and was dedicated to St. Batholomew, one of the Twelve Apostles. In the 17th century the church underwent several changes and additions, including the addition of a new tower and sacristy. Today, the church has its original Gothic appearance, apart from the baroque capitals on the columns. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Czechia.

The Church of St. Batholomew is the only remaining structure from the 14th century in the city of Hradec Kralove. The church was declared a national cultural monument in 1955. The church is also home to a number of notable artworks, including a statue of St. Batholomew, a wooden carving of a cross-shaped baptismal font, and several frescoes.
