History:
The church was built during the early 13th century by the local prince, Zavis. The church was funded by the royal family and completed during the 15th century, with renovations occuring over time. It was initially called the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, but was later renamed to the Church of Our Lady of the Snows. Following World War II, the church was damaged after being destroyed by bombardments and was later renovated by local volunteers. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Czechia.

The Church of Our Lady of the Snows is a mix of both Gothic and Renaissance architecture, featuring a Baroque façade and an ornate storefront believed to have been designed by the renowned architect Johann Donato Camillo Strachotto. The church is 81.7 meters long and has a beautiful interior featuring amazing frescos, sculptures, and stained glass windows. In 1995, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
