St. Salvator Church was first founded in 1260 under the rule of King Ottokar II of Bohemia who dedicated it to St. Salvator. The congregation flourished, and in 1278, the Church was completed and a new chapter in its history was opened. The original building was fortified by strong walls, and a new tower was added to the main entrance in 1602. In the 17th century, the building started to show its age and started to deteriorate. Finally, in 1867, a major renovation of the church was conducted, and the original Gothic style stained glass and stone arch were restored. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Czechia.
