87% of Indians intend to spend more on travel and shopping

It’s hard to believe that citizens from the developing nation are much interested in spending time traveling and shopping. A report from American Express clarifies that 88% of Indian residents are planning to spend the most on travel and shop more thoughtfully this year. 




8 out of 10 Indian citizens ((87%)agreed on the statement that they are thinking about starting or restarting the tradition of traveling during the holiday season. Whereas 82% want to take some time off from the work and spend some quality time with their family this holiday season. 

A similar report was also published by Amex Trendex’ that states “Indian consumers are more intended to spending their time on traveling and shopping.

According to a statement released by American Express, eight in ten Indian consumers agree that they are thinking about starting or restarting the tradition of traveling during the holiday season because they agree that their fondest memories are from holiday family vacations

Furthermore, the report noted that six out of ten Indian consumers intend to increase their spending at local businesses during the upcoming holiday season compared to 2021.

Seventy-five percent of Indian respondents, the highest percentage of any country surveyed, say they want to host a holiday event for loved ones this year.




About 82% of Indian adults, and 83% of Indian Generation Z and Millennials, plan to spend the holidays with loved ones this year.
