Župnija Sv. Martin Velenje in Slovenia is a parish located in Velenje, Slovenia. It is a parish of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Maribor. It is named after Saint Martin of Tours, the patron saint of Velenje. The first known priest of the parish of Sv. Martin was Friar Janez, whose name is mentioned in a document from 1530. The current parish church, completed in 1725, has served as the main house of worship for citizens of Velenje since the Victorian era. History:

The parish of Sv. Martin in Velenje was founded in the middle of the 16th century. The original parish church, a wooden one, burnt in 1624 and was replaced by a new one, made of stone and completed in 1725. The new parish church was built in the Baroque style, featuring a distinctive bell tower. From the 19th century onwards, the importance of the parish church grew significantly and it served as a cultural and spiritual center for the residents of Velenje. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Slovenia.
