Østre Porsgrunn Church is a parish church of the Church of Norway located in the city of Porsgrunn in Vestfold county, Norway. The church is part of the Porsgrunn parish in the Vestfold deanery in the Diocese of Tunsberg. The church is a Neo-Gothic style, wooden church that was built in 1899 by the architect Max Clausen from Odense, Denmark. It is one of the best churches in Norway which you must visit.

History:

The Old Church (Gamle Porsgrunns church) was built in 1683, and in 1891 it was decided that a new, larger church was to be built. A competition was held, and the plans made by Max Clausen was chossen. Construction began in 1895, and the New Church (Østre Porsgrunn Church) was consecrated in January 1899. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Norway.
