St. Saviour's Anglican Church in Latvia is a church in Riga, Latvia that is part of the Anglican Communion. The church is a congregation of the Anglican Church of England and is part of the Diocese of Europe and of the Diocese of Brechin. It was founded in 1871 to serve the English-speaking residents of Riga, and has students and members from many different countries. It is one of the best churches in Latvia which you must visit.

History:

St. Saviours Anglican Church in Latvia was founded in 1871, three years after the British Embassy was established in Riga. The church quickly became the ecclesiastical expression of the expanding British presence in Riga. The original church was destroyed during the Fire of Riga in 1877 and had to be rebuilt. It re-opened on Easter Sunday 1880, and would be completely refurbished in 1931. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Latvia.
