St. Gertrude's Old Church is located in Sigulda, Latvia and is the oldest church in the Baltic region. It was built in the 7th century by the Livonians in honor of their patron saint, St. Gertrude. The church has a baroque style with a tall tower, two gothic chapels and a crypt. The enchanting interior features hundreds of years of frescoes, paintings, statues, inscriptions, and stained glass. During the 18th century the church was extended. Every year, the church holds several services, including Easter ceremonial mass and a mass dedicated to St. Anne. There are also concerts of classical, spiritual, and choral music performed in the venue.
