Rīga Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Cross is a Lutheran Church in Latvia, founded in 1523, making it the oldest Lutheran church in Latvia and one of the oldest Lutheran churches in the world. It has been an integral part of the cultural and religious history of Latvia for centuries. The church was originally located in Old Rīga close to the Dome Cathedral but relocated to its current location in 1621. It is a noted example of the Baroque architectural style and was designed by German architect Johann Burger in 1754.
The church is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia (EKL), which is part of the Lutheran World Federation. The members of the congregation are mainly from Latvia, although there are also Estonian and German members.
