The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Guinea-Bissau has a rich and vibrant history. The Church was first established in the country in 1990, when a pioneering group of 12 members was organized by Pastor Manuel Monteiro from Portugal, who visited the country twice each year. Since then, the Sabbath School, the sanctuary and the medical service have been established in several regions in Guinea-Bissau, mainly in Bissau, Mansoa, Bole, Praia and others. As of 2021, the church has over 9,000 members with more than 70 local churches and 20 mission points.
The Church in Guinea-Bissau is committed to helping spread the gospel message through its social outreach, spiritual gatherings and education. It provides medical assistance, agricultural support, educational programs and workshops to help strengthen families, as well as mobile Bible study groups to reach remote areas and villages. The Church also operates Camp Boke, which is a vacation bible school and recreation center for children.
