Our Lady of Grace Cathedral, Bafatá In Guinea-Bissau, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Bafatá, Guinea-Bissau. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bafatá and was the first cathedral built in the former Portuguese colony. The first church dates back to 1885 and was built the same year that Guinea-Bissau was annexed by Portugal. The current building was built in 1970. The cathedral is dedicated to Our Lady of Grace, and is built in traditional Portuguese-style architecture. It has two towers, one dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima and the other to Saint Anthony of Padua. The interior of the cathedral is beautifully decorated with stained glass windows, marble columns, and ornate stone sculptures. The cathedral holds regular services and Masses, as well as weddings, funerals and other religious events. On special occasions, concerts are also held in the cathedral. The cathedral is open to the public, and visitors can explore the building and experience the religious atmosphere.
