Church of Our Lady Victorious - Prague In Czechia is an ornate Baroque Catholic shrine in Malá Strana Part of the Lesser Town of Prague, Czech Republic. It is a popular pilgrimage and religious venue. The church is dedicated to the Infant Jesus of Prague, a wax statue of a standing Christ Child, which is believed to have miraculous powers. It is one of the best churches in Czechia which you must visit.

History:

 The church was founded in 1611 by Princess Polyxena of Lobkowicz on the spot of a former Carmelite monastery. The statue of the Infant Jesus was donated in 1628 to the Carmelite order by Maria Manriquez de Lara, a noblewoman of Spanish descent who lived in Madrid. The statue is thought to be of Flemish origin and is possibly one of the earliest examples of child portraiture. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Czechia.

 The church is home to priceless Baroque furnishings and works of art. Its elaborate stucco and marble decorations, intricate decorations and decorated ceiling are considered to be one of the finest examples of Baroque in Prague. The main altar of the church, featuring Jesus on the cross and gilded figures of angels, was re-designed in 1710 by Czech master builder Jan Blažej Santini, the architect responsible for the rebuilding of the church in the baroque style.

The church offers weekly masses, in addition to daily confessions and baptisms. It also hosts concerts, lectures and cultural events such as art exhibitions. The courtyard of the church opens for tourists during the day and its stained glass windows, where the Infant Jesus is depicted, are illuminated by spotlights at night.This beautiful church in Czechia has made a lot of significance in the past.
