Brief History:
Al Qurum West North South Mosque is a mosque in Muscat, the capital city of Oman. The mosque is located in Al Qurum, the main commercial and shopping centre in Oman. The mosque was built in the early 1990s to accommodate the increasing numbers of worshippers attending the Friday service. It is an important place of worship for both the Muslim and non-Muslim community. The building of the mosque was made possible by a generous donation from the Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said. The mosque has a total area of 7500 sq. feet and has capacity to accommodate over 2000 worshippers. The mosque is managed by the Authority for mosques and religious endowments and is open for all five daily prayers. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Al Qurum West North South Mosque in Oman is an example of modern Islamic architecture. The exterior of the mosque was designed to resemble a traditional Islamic design, featuring several domes and minarets. The entrance of the mosque is adorned with a large stone archway, as well as two towers which house the main minarets. Inside the mosque, several columns, arches, and domes are featured throughout the prayer hall, while intricate wooden latticing and stained-glass windows line the walls. The mosque is also illuminated with several chandeliers, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for worshippers. The roof of the mosque is also lined with several crescent-shaped domes. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

Travel Information:
Al Qurum West Mosque is located in the Al Qurum area of Muscat, Oman. It is one of the oldest mosques in the city and is open to Muslims of all sects. The mosque can be accessed easily by public transportation. Take Bus 181 from Seeb Domestic Airport or Salalah External Terminal to Muttrah Main Bus Station and then Bus 187 or S180 to get to the mosque. The mosque is open from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on other days. The nearest airport is Muscat International Airport, which is a 30-minute drive away. beautiful masjid.
