St. John the Forerunner Orthodox Church in Latvia is a parish of the Latvian Orthodox Church, a self-governing Eastern Orthodox church under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Moscow. It is located in the city of Riga, the capital of Latvia. The church traces its history back to the 19th century when the Russian Orthodox clergy started to spread Orthodox Christianity in the region. The church was officially established in 1902 after approval from the Tsar of Russia and the Latvian government. The current church was built in the Baroque style in 1948.
