For the first time in history, Varanasi airport’s office has made a collaboration with Banaras Hindu University and decided to make announcements in Sanskrit along with other languages. It is known to all that Sanskrit is the oldest language in Indian culture with a very strong genesis and including this in the part of the announcement will bring us one stage closer to embracing the rich culture of India.

From now onward, Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport will make announcements in three different languages. Earlier the announcement was being made in Hindi, and English however from now an additional language is added to the list. Passengers will now get to hear all-important announcements in the Sanskrit language as well.

Kashi is home to the Sanskrit language and this much-appreciated step will make people feel like they have entered the holy town. Airport officials use the official Twitter account to make this announcement on Jun 17, 2022

It is believed that this step will revive the interest of people in old languages which eventually promote the Indian culture.  Airports Authority of India (AAI) has made a collaboration with Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Previously in an interview, the Airport director of Varanasi, Aryama Sanyal stated that Varanasi has always been the center of the Sanskrit language since ancient times. She added that making an announcement in Sanskrit in this holy state is one of the purest forms of paying due respect to the language.

Varanasi is likewise one of the old Indian urban communities overflowing with stories from history. Hopefully, this move by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) will revive people’s interest in the ancient language.
