Staff shortages, long queues, and delays in airports cause a lot of problems for travelers.
The New South Wales government urged the people to cancel their trip or go out on roads if there is no emergency. The chaos at Sydney airport comes as the State of Emergency and the government officials issued an alert of heavy rainfall across the country.
The flood in the city and inclement weather have affected the daily life of the common people in Sydney. In addition to this, the winter holidays of school are also causing a great problem because of the increase in travel. The family across the country are planning to travel to different parts of the world thus increasing the number of travelers in the country.
Alone in Sydney, around 30,000 people were evacuated and taken to a safer place. The flood has struck greater Sydney disrupting the daily life of the people and system management.

The worst part is that the airport in Sydney is expecting more airplanes to pass through its terminal. These airplanes will be carrying around 3 million travelers compared to 1.8 million travelers who came in April. The reports show a 69% of recovery of travelers in Australia before the pandemic. Most of the travelers are flying at the peak time which is between 5 am and 9 am. Travelers flying at 3 pm in afternoon are told to be on time at the airport. The head of the Sydney airport is expecting more travelers in July due to the school holidays.
The shortage of staff members due to the pandemic has also caused a ruckus at the airport. At least 15000 staff were laid off and currently, 5000 are in working.
