Tokyo is Japan’s capital and the world’s most populous metropolitan city. It is also one of Japan’s 47 official residence, consisting of 23 central city wards and multiple cities, towns, and villages west of the city center. Tokyo’s large parts were destroyed in the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 and after the air raids of 1945.

Now Tokyo offers a seemingly unlimited choice of shopping, entertainment, culture, and dining to its residents as well as tourists. Tokyo’s history can be praised in districts such as Asakusa and in many excellent museums, historic temples, and gardens. Tokyo also offers a number of attractive green spaces in the city center and within relatively short train rides at its outskirts, contrary to common perception.

The center of Harajuku’s teenage culture is Takeshita Dori.  The national symbol of Tokyo is the cherry blossom. In April, the trees flower for two weeks, this period is known as Hanami. The biggest Tower is a communications and observation tower in the Shiba-Koen district in Tokyo. It was originally a copy of the Eiffel Tower, hence their similar appearance.
