Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) in Mumbai has announced the launch of a new hop-on, hop-off (Ho-Ho) AC bus service to boost tourism in the state. The buses will be operational from today onwards for tourists to make travel easier for everyone. With this announcement, the state is anticipating more tourist footfall.
According to reports from ANI, GM of BEST, Lokesh Chandra, stated that “Passengers can buy tickets for Rs 150 and travel for an entire day in similar tourist buses, after alighting at any designated stop. They can also board other buses operating on the route. It’ll make ‘Mumbai Darshan’ more fun and convenient for tourists,”

Chandra continued, “The double-decker electric bus services are probably going to be introduced very soon.” Presently, the Ho-Ho buses run between the Gateway of India and Juhu Chowpatty, stopping at several tourist attractions along the way. The new Ho-Ho bus route will run between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to various other spots around the city.
This year we are completing 75 years of independence and on this occasion, we are celebrating ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. To make the celebration more memorable for everyone, BEST came up with an idea to increase the number of hop-on-hop-off (Ho-Ho) AC bus services for tourists starting today.
BEST’s GM, Lokesh Chandra told ANI, Our fleet of new electric buses will grow as well; by the end of 2023, 50% of our buses will be electric, and by 2026, all of our buses will be powered by electricity. He added, that just as BEST currently operates the most buses in the entire nation, in the future also, we will operate the most electric buses in the nation.
