1. Grande Mosquée d’Agadez

2. Niamey Grand Mosque

The Grand Mosque of Niamey is a big and beautiful mosque in the center of Niamey, but with very few visitors. Even in the afternoon prayer time, you will find no visitor. Mosque needs maintenance and cleans up the area around the mosque and big compounds around it. This mosque was built with the help of Libya, that’s why it is big and grand, but nothing really special in terms of architecture, history, or decor. 3. The Old Quarter

5. Dabous Giraffe Rock Art

Dabous giraffe carvings are considered as the world’s largest single petroglyph. There are two carvings of giraffes at this historical site in Niger, first discovered in 1997. Estimated to have been completed between 9,000 and 5,000 BC, they are prime examples of early human existence in the area and reflect their nomadic activities. Each carving is around 20ft in height.

6. W National Park

This protected parkland is actually shared across a tri-border area between the nations of Niger, Benin, and Burkina Faso and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996. A big area of this historical landmark in Niger has decreed a national park in 1954. As you may imagine, including some of the last African elephants left in West Africa, a park in sub-Saharan Africa is notably home to large mammals. Also, there are baboons, water buffalo, hippos, cheetahs, leopards, and lions, and there have been 350 species identified in the park. 8. Abaaba National Park

9. Old Balleyara Market 

A tour to the renowned animal market of the old Balleyara Market is a glance at the conventional lifestyles of central Africa. A combination of tribes and peoples, it attracts merchants from Mali, Burkina Faso and all over the remote extends of greater Niger. 10. Ancient City of Iferouane

Also called Iferouan, Iferouane is an ancient city in northern Niger, in the Agadez Department. It is situated northeast of Arlit in the northern Aïr, in the Ighazar valley close to the Tamgak Range. Iferouane is the place of the headquarters of the Aïr and Ténéré Natural Reserves, a World Heritage Site in Niger extending over more than 7,700,000 ha. The Project for the Conservation and Management of the Natural Resources of the Aïr-Ténéré, a joint venture among the administration of Niger, and the World Conservation Union, is based in Iferouane.
