This is the 44th edition of Chess Olympiad and India is hosting it for the first time in hundred years. Ahead of this prestigious event the iconic Napier Bridge is all decked up as a chess board which shows nothing less than work of art.
The video of the bridge is going viral on the social media platforms which is shared Supriya Sahu, who is Chief Secretary Environment Climate Change & Forests, Govt of Tamil Nadu. She shared the video on Twitter writing that “Chennai the Chess Capital of India is all set to host the grand, Chess Olympiad 2022.The iconic Napier Bridge is decked up like a Chess Board.”
In no time the video started to get thousands of views and shared hundred of times. The video left the netizens awe-struck with the beauty of the art portrait on the bridge. The superstar of Indian Cenima Rajnikant also took to twitter to share the teaser of this event. The music of the teaser is composed by none other than Oscar Winning artist A R Rahman.
The video got a lot of accolades from the netizens however, some argued and called the Chess board design worrisome for the riders as it might create illusion. This year India is going to host the biggest and most popular chess event in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu.
At least 2000 chess players from around the world will take part in this event making it one of the biggest events for the chess lovers. Chennai is excited to host the first Chess Olympiad in India and the respected authorities are trying their 100% to organise a grand and memorable event.
